The statistics keep telling us that investing in video as part of your marketing strategy is a wise choice. Nine out of 10 businesses are using video in 2024, 81% of consumers want to see more videos from brands and 84% of consumers say they have visited a website after watching a video about a brand’s product or service.

But which type of videos are the most successful?

Determining this is obviously difficult as so many differing factors come into play: the platform the video is on, the audience it is targeting, the product or service it is showcasing. However, by looking at the numbers of the types of videos marketers make, we can make an educated guess as to which types of videos consistently perform well.

95% of marketers report success with short-form video content.

Short-form videos typically range from a few seconds to a minute long and are created to be concise, capture attention and deliver a message quickly. They work well on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels and are easily shared.

65% of marketing videos are presentations.

These include live video content such as live streams, webinars, and Q&A sessions, and they are popular and effective because they offer real-time interaction and engagement. Platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Instagram Live have seen significant growth as creators and brands leverage live video to connect with their audiences in an authentic way.

Almost 50% of all marketing videos are testimonials.

40% of companies have created explainer videos.

How-to tutorials, educational content, DIY projects, and explainer videos are highly popular because they provide valuable information and help viewers solve problems or learn new skills. People often turn to video content to quickly understand complex topics or find solutions to their queries.

32% of businesses have created videos for product demos.

Product demonstrations, product review videos, unboxings, and comparison videos have all become increasingly popular. They help customers to make informed purchasing decisions and find it helpful to see real-life demonstrations of products before buying.
