How to get more views of your videos

When you put the thought, time, and effort into making a great video for your business, it can be disheartening when you see that not many people have watched it. Like most things, there is no silver bullet for attracting an enormous audience, but there are a few things you can do to increase your video’s visibility.

The most critical factor is obvious – the quality of your content must be high; otherwise why would anyone watch it? So make sure your videos are well-produced and provide value to your target audience.

There are some tips on the technical aspects of doing this here but also remember to include an engaging and concise introduction. Viewers are much more likely to continue watching if they are captivated in the first few seconds. Think about the title and opening screen or thumbnails – these are the first things people will see and play a significant role in helping them decide if they want to watch your video or not.

When putting together the video content, think about trending topics or events that are related to your business or industry, or even seasonal content that viewers may be searching for. Also consider collaborations with others in your industry or who have the same target market as you, as this could help you increase viewers by reaching their audiences as well.

When publishing your video, be sure to optimise it for SEO – use compelling and descriptive titles, keywords, and tags in the description to help search engines and algorithms understand what your video is about and therefore direct viewers.

After it has been published, remember to promote the video. Use your social media platforms and hashtags to reach a broad audience, put a call to action in your post to encourage shares and respond to any comments to engage with your viewers. Building a community can encourage more people to watch your videos and if you stick to a regular posting schedule, they may choose to keep coming back for more.

You can also promote your new video on your website or blog, or embed them on relevant pages of your site to leverage the SEO you’ve created on the video platform. If it’s in your budget, paid advertising on digital platforms can help you reach a broader audience, especially if you’re looking for a boost.

After your video has been made, optimised, and promoted make sure you spend some time looking at how it has performed and how its performance compares to your previous videos to better understand what’s working and what’s not. This information can help you refine your content and also your promotion strategies.

Building an audience take time and consistency. But by implementing these strategies and understanding past performance, your video marketing efforts will improve and your viewership will grow.
